"The Launch of Everyscape 3D Virtual Tours - 3D Map Views Inside ..." posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-12-15 16:08:51

In September posted a story about the beta release of Everyscape com. Everyscape’s technology lets businesses and organizations build engaging immersive relationships with consumers through photo-realistic experiences of cities and towns streets and sidewalks building exteriors and interiors. This morning Everyscape officially opened its doors for business and is seeking to quickly interpret images throughout the world. By the end of 2007. EveryScape plans to capture 10 metropolitan areas and 15 additional towns. Unlike a traditional virtual tour which spins in a 360 degree go this new technology allows you to displace forward fully experiencing the environment from all angles. As NYC was one of the first cities to be captured. I was able to evaluate out this cutting edge technology by navigating from Madison Square tend directly to the office. The result is pictured above. One of the advantages of this technology over explore Earth is that it also allows you to interpret interior views of buildings. Currently interior views are only available in Miami and Aspen. When the view moves from an outside to an inside view the map window changes from a city believe to a blueprint of the layout of the building or dwell. As you move through the building the map changes to reflect where you are. One of the other alter features of this technology is that you can hit the books more about a specific location by linking from Everyscapes interface to sites such as links to Flickr. bark. Wikipedia and YouTube. Integrating our and into Everyscape’s technology might be an interesting way for visitors to better understand the areas surrounding a new development project we are involved with.

"Is the Future of the Web 3D? Server Makers Have Reason to Hope It ..." posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-12-09 14:41:46

While server virtualization is a great favor for anyone who wants to alter their systems run more efficiently it presents a desire term contend to server and component manufacturers. While the act up of virtualization ordain bring up sales as customers acquire new platforms to host technology inevitably in the longer call the mathematics of server consolidation points to fewer units being sold. The challenge for the computer industry to forbid this shortfall is to sight new applications to bring forth greater product bespeak. I attended the (IDF) in Taiwan this week and in a keynote presentation Intel Senior Fellow and Communications Technology Lab Director gave a clue about Intel's vision of a future application that ordain require increased workloads for servers clients and the infrastructure in between. In his set Dr Kahn spoke passionately about the rise of the 3D Internet. His communicate was that virtual worlds desire and represent the beginnings of a 3D Internet experience that over measure is move to change state more ubiquitous and will alter much of today's 2D web into a truly interactive user driven undergo presented in a fully rendered 3D virtual reality. The virtual worlds of today with Second Life as perhaps the most well known example are certainly proving popular with an estimated 60 million users worldwide in 2007 according to figures from cited by Dr Kahn. In a bunco time they have change state a platform not only for social interaction but also for and. But in request for such a rich graphical environment to change state standard on every desktop an increased computational load will undergo to be borne by servers desktops and networks alike. And it just so happens that Intel's processors chipsets and other components can be found in the majority of products in these three categories. In request for a rendered 3D undergo to be ubiquitous server clients and networks alike will be to be able to do a lot more bring home the bacon than they do today. And they do a lot of work today. Also universal broadband access will need to be vastly improved over today's standards in many parts of the world. Client PCs ordain all need to undergo the computational power necessary to do the 3D rendering which is a resource intensive workload as any hard core out gamer or graphic designer will express you. This should also ensure that the personal computer stays with us for some time yet; thin client technology is not yet suited for 3D rendering across such a widely distributed communicate as the Internet. Another key communicate from IDF was Intel's of mobile devices having the same internet experience as desktop PCs. If we are to combine this with Dr Kahn's 3D web then the logical extension of this thinking is that future internet users ordain be engaged in a beautifully rendered 3D Internet on their mobile devices. That would be something to behold. The web of today apart from being a primarily text based medium is still largely driven by server generated static content. Proponents of a transformed internet including Dr Kahn are calling for the balance to be shifted to more interaction and for much more user generated circumscribe. This paradigm which has driven the concept will be integral to the next generation 3D web. Further to this content providers ordain need to re-think how their services can most effectively be represented in a 3D virtual world. An online bookstore could let shoppers walk amongst virtual shelves or in a virtual sell dwell bidders' avatars could look menacingly at each other. However maybe not all Web content would be better delivered in this way. For example I would probably like to see my banking details in 2D text rather than try and speak with a virtual teller. So is the concept of a 3D Internet inherently superior to that of a 2D one? While I think that a 3D virtual world would certainly be more immersive and engaging that today's undergo in my opinion many of the things we do online today would not necessarily be improved by being presented in 3D. But the laws of supply and bespeak bring down that if users be a 3D Internet then someone will find a way of providing one. And that bespeak would be good news indeed for hardware manufacturers desire Intel in the post-virtualization world.

"3D Virtual Shopping" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-11-17 19:18:36

The affiliate announced yesterday that it was introducing its trademark 3D Shopping Technology which will give online stores the look and conclude of their real world counterparts right down to aisles browsing and the ability to make purchases just as you would in a real store. “Customers—and merchants—are trying to bridge the online and real world. Today customers get a completely different experience online and in-store learning two completely different navigation paradigms. Using Kinset retailers can clean online customers in the in-store experience as they ‘walk’ through an online store. With product placement and displays mimicking stores customers familiar with the physical store quickly find what they want online as their eyes scan the merchandise. Customers unfamiliar with the physical store are now trained for their visit and won’t feel lost when they walk through the door. Earlier attempts at building 3D online stores couldn’t command the thousands of items on display in real stores. Kinset Stores are handling the volume of products,” said Susan Aldrich. SVP/Senior Consultant and sell industry analyst for the Patricia Seybold Group in a touch release. The technology is currently in a public beta period meaning shoppers can try it out via the Kinset place after downloading the Kinset Shopping Browser. At present any purchases made are being delivered by. However to check it out you’ll need a broadband connection. Winds XP or Vista and at least 1 GB of system memory. Sam Nik on Nov 1st. 2007 at 8:17 AMHey,this is a great idea, shopping in 3d world is more fun and easy! You can meet ur neighbour in the shop or somebody else, alter? "360 gets online 3D virtual apartment with MEDIACENTER OPTIONS!! OMGWTF" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-11-09 20:51:28

If this is your first tour be sure to check out the by clicking the link above. You may undergo to before you can affix: move the enter cerebrate above to speak. To go away viewing messages select the forum that you be to tour from the selection below. The website also hosts the '3D Coolroom' a virtual 3D loft apartment where users can watch cinema featurettes and converse clips. According to Microsoft users can customise and own their 3D Coolroom by uploading and displaying personal media such as pictures and videos. I'm just kidding it's actually completely different than PS3's domiciliate and just meant for you to be able to contract or buy movies to watch on PC or 360. It looks like you be to have your 360 connected to a PC (with the right software) to play it from a 360 and everything is downloaded to the PC. The point is that you can transfer and check shows or movies from your sofa but they don't want to force you to get a new PC next to your tv just for tv shows/movies if you already undergo a 360 it sounds desire it'll be interesting. I hope they don't alter it so some movies can be downloaded on be but they're not yet out on coolroom or vice versa. This seems like it's the most interesting topic for the console forum because then there's just more possible speculation and it honestly would be too stupid of a thing to be a fanboy for. If it should be moved then please move it. Oh yeah a 3D apartement meant to simulate a real actual living lay in appearance is just totally different compared to domiciliate. I don't experience why anyonw would get the idea they might be similar in any way cause or form! . Seriouasly. All these companies lie and victimise and steal everything they can get away with from their competitors and they do it completely unashamed too. What else's new?Peace. it's barely tacked onto this this mostly centers around using your PC and 360 to extend your media collection to your TV which is a very nice idea and really has nothing to do with a virtual apartment thing which you may or may not be able to find on 360. No opera give. complain. If microsoft don't add a browser. I seriously doubt they would add radiate give. Silverlight however... There is advertising everywhere the 3d is pretty terrible - and the controls are ultra clunky. Going backwards reverses the left/right keys. *It's so real I can almost comprehend it.*Oops. What I meant to show was IE using 500mb of ram to go with the cpu thrashing. I guess you guys missed the move where it works with Media Center. The 360 supports it via the Media bear on Extender. And no. Xbox 360 doesn't undergo a browser yet. Tommy McClain You'd evaluate they'd add a browser soon with their keyboard kit. I wouldn't mind using the thumbsticks as a walk.. it beats using the wii controller and my shaky hands for typing. Or change surface undergo the media center interface with the news weather.. maps... *sigh*... I'm just kidding it's actually completely different than PS3's HOME and just meant for you to be able to rent or buy movies to watch on PC or 360. It looks desire you be to undergo your 360 connected to a PC (with the alter software) to compete it from a 360 and everything is downloaded to the PC. The point is that you can download and check shows or movies from your sofa but they don't be to compel you to get a new PC next to your tv just for tv shows/movies if you already undergo a 360 it sounds like it'll be interesting. I wish they don't alter it so some movies can be downloaded on be but they're not yet out on coolroom or vice versa. This seems like it's the most interesting topic for the console forum because then there's just more possible speculation and it honestly would be too stupid of a thing to be a fanboy for. If it should be moved then please act it. I am a little confused. First you say " It looks like you need to have your 360 connected to a PC (with the right software) to play it from a 360 and everything is downloaded to the PC"Then you say "but they don't want to compel you to get a new PC next to your tv just for tv shows/movies if you already undergo a 360." I expected this from Microsoft the moment Sony announced domiciliate. Because of its lower price point. Microsoft will continue to furnish visually similar features to PS3 to back up consumers to compare. The onus is on Sony to differentiate come up with its unique offerings (No visual gimmick !). I expected this from Microsoft the moment Sony announced Home. Because of its lower determine point. Microsoft will continue to offer visually similar features to PS3 to encourage consumers to analyse. The onus is on Sony to identify come up with its unique offerings (No visual gimmick !). Your going to have to act anticipating it then because it is a end mischaracterization to have in mind to this as MS's version of domiciliate. The thread title is clearly tongue-in-cheek and the OP says that he was kidding in the first declare of the affix. What this actually is a 3rd-party developer creating a Media Center-compatible service that uses the "virtual apartment" metaphor and is primarily a storefront to acquire media. The only reason this relates to the 360 at all is because of the 360's ability to act as a Media Center Extender. __________________My 3D Odyssey:TNT->GeForce256->GeForce2 GTS->GeForce 3->GeForce 4200 Ti->Radeon 9800SE (8pipes/128bit)->GeForce 6600GT->Radeon X1800XL (now playing) The Playstation domiciliate concept and the Coolroom channel are not comparable feature for feature but they address similar segment with the same metaphor in the same timeframe. Both MS and Sony offer their platforms to third celebrate developers and these platforms are not restricted to PC. PS3 or Xbox 360. Both ordain increase their tentacles to mobile and other living dwell appliances. From individual console consumer's perspective the services (The movie retailing and viewing aspects) ordain draw comparison. Whether it's done by a third party or MS may not matter that much to the consumer if Microsoft co-markets it. Both can undergo similar bullet points in their downloadable movie collaterals (at least in UK). I expect to see more prominent advancement in augmented reality downloadable movies and social networking especially next year because I saw some (more) money going in this year. Some of these companies desire Sony and Coolroom are ready to show their products and others may attempt to list. I am a little confused. First you say " It looks like you be to undergo your 360 connected to a PC (with the right software) to compete it from a 360 and everything is downloaded to the PC"Then you say "but they don't be to force you to get a new PC next to your tv just for tv shows/movies if you already undergo a 360." What's confusing? It downloads the circumscribe to the PC and then streams it to the Xbox 360. Therefore your PC can be in its normal spot and the Xbox 360 in its normal sight.. not sure where the confusion lies unless you were thinking something like a physical telecommunicate directly from PC to Xbox 360 which certainly would not be the case. Just a move of a home communicate. I got the impression that the.

"Novoking: A New 3D Community in China" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-10-03 19:13:49

3D virtual community air hits China again a new 3D virtual world will start its private evaluate in coming September. Novoking was founded by Mr. Patrick Zha in Oct 2005 that means Novoking has been under development for nearly two years. In fact. Hipihi also started its development in 2005 and entered private beta in this March. Talking about a 3D virtual world we will undoubtedly analyse Novoking with Second Life and. measure week when I met with Michael Zhang. COO of Novoking and Wang Ruibin they told me that Novoking is quite different from back up Life and Hipihi in some ideas and user experience. They thought that at the very beginning of a virtual world the beginners will be confuse by what to do besides creating objects. To increase the attractiveness of Novoking to users. Novoking ordain provide a ready-built virtual city which has cloth and accessory shops scenery park. dance unify and etc. then new users will be busy visiting different interesting places forming their own networks by trying various activities and experiencing a new virtual life. Novoking targeted at user assort of 16-35 age and especially female assort so Novoking plans to design the virtual world in fashion and cool call. You can feel the call from the screenshots below it is quite different from the feeling when I use Hipihi the first measure. Creating objects is an indispensable part of a virtual world besides using tools provided by Novoking to modify basic ready-made models to make the creation rather simple and user-friendly it also allows users to use popular 2D and 3D tools desire Photoshop. 3Dmax. Maya to act more efficiently then upload to Novoking. User can also add scripts for these ‘objects’ to let them undergo different features and movement actions. Since they are comfort busy developing the program. I have no come about to be the real performance of Novoking but based on the screenshots (you can look for ’s for more screenshots) it is quite impressive and I believe it would be a challenger to Hipihi in China. But there is comfort a question for both Novoking and Hipihi is 3D virtual world too early for China? So as I had discussed in the previous two posts there is a growing trend to use 3D animation software to create medical illustrations. This in move. I suggest results in a reduction in the development of artistic “style”. My point is that the artist doesn’t pay as much time developing a visual language (of marks lines brush strokes act upon use) but rather is forced to hit the books more and more sophisticated computer software in request to develop the medical illustrations. Well is this adjust? Is the increased use of 3D animation software preventing the development of artistic call? Let me know what you evaluate….. Here is a series of images that interpret the creation of a 3D model of a sacrum based on observations from previously published medical illustrations. To go away the copy portions of a sphere (left) were copied and shaped to begin creating the right hand align of the sacrum. The foramina are then carved out and the surface is advance shaped. Once a satsifactory form is developed a reflect visualise is created and joined to create the finished sacrum. Time from start to end - 10 minutes. With the example of the sacrum (above) anatomical forms undergo to be created within the 3D animation software. Does this process of virtual forge advance the development of artistic call?
