Strategically it costs significantly less to deliver numerous function providers offering than it does TDM. However object for the occasional special that your company might run most voip services you extra for. If you want to utilize xten networks your type of service is to use X-Lite a friend in england (formerly known as internet phones ). They both bidders images commercial extranets currently inexpensive virtual telecommunicate numbers and have a data collaboration and service. Here we ordain be at changes that are coming that ordain change magnitude what is already substantial growth in the industry. Virtual private network (VPN) is a through another network and dedicated for a specific network. One common application is secure communications through the public Internet but a VPN need not undergo explicit security features such as authentication or circumscribe encryption. VPNs for example can be used to separate the traffic of different user communities over an underlying network with strong security features. A VPN may have best-effort performance or may have a defined (SLA) between the VPN customer and the VPN service provider. Generally a VPN has a topology more complex than point-to-point. "MAC Address Issue in VS2005 R2 (not SP1)" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-10-10 18:17:49

I am currently using Microsoft Virtual Server 2005 to run virtual labs forpeople who act our online classes. We have three types of labs. Single(which be of one VM). Duals (which consist of two VMs) and Quads (whichcontain 4 VMs). Even though the single labs do not really be networkconnectivity the dual and quad labs do since the VMs within a particular labtend to communicate with each other (i e. 1 is a DC and the be are part ofthat domain). We currently having upwards of 700 labs so when we had to start theconversion affect (since the express vsv files aren't compatible between theold version and new). SP1 wasn't even out yet. Therefore we're trying toget all the labs to run under R2. However. I've run into a problem with theVirtual NICs in the VMs and am hoping someone can help. The way the labs are currently configured each VM has a static MAC address. In the cases I've observed the corresponding devices undergo the claim sameMAC communicate for all the labs. For example:1) Single Pod Lab: 404-1 (the one and only device) has a MAC communicate of00:03:FF 9:00:01 (resides in private network 4.1).2) manifold Pod Lab: 405-1 has a MAC communicate of 00:03:FF 9:00:01 (resides inprivate network 5.1) and 405-2 has a MAC address of 00:03:FF 9:00:02(resides in private network 5.2)3) Quad Pod Lab: 407-1 has a MAC address of 00:03:FF 9:00:01 (resides inprivate network 7.1). 407-2 has a MAC address of 00:03:FF 9:00:02 (residesin private network 7.2). 407-3 has a MAC communicate of 00:03:FF 9:00:03(resides in private network 7.3) and 407-4 has a MAC communicate of00:03:FF 9:00:04 (resides in private network 7.4). Now this isn't a problem currently with VS 2005 because they reside inseparate private networks. It would only be an air if they resided in thesame virtual networks which they do not. However on a machine running RC2that already had the 404 hit Lab and the 405 manifold Lab running. I broughtup a 407 Quad Lab. After connecting. I noticed that devices 1 & 2 in thequad lab were showing their network interface as disconnected (the red Xthrough the icon). After searching the Virtual Server logs. I found thefollowing entries (there were also similar ones for 407-2):8:55:56 PM Virtual Server The static MAC communicate on "407-1"(00:03:FF 9:00:01) conflicts with the MAC address on "405-1". MAC addressconflicts on the same virtual network may prove in a loss of networkconnectivity.8:55:56 PM Virtual Server The static MAC communicate on "407-1"(00:03:FF 9:00:01) conflicts with the MAC address on "404-1". MAC addressconflicts on the same virtual network may result in a loss of networkconnectivity.8:56:04 PM Virtual Machine The virtual machine "407-1" cannot connectvirtual network adapter 1 because another virtual forge with the MACaddress 00:03:FF 9:00:01 is already running. This virtual network adapterwill be left disconnected. The first two are normal and ones I would expect to see. They change surface statethat a problem should only occur if they reside within the same virtualnetwork. I have verified that they do not. The last message is the one thatis causing the issue. In the older version of VS2005 it didn't do anythingbecause the virtual NICs were in different virtual networks. However itappears that RC2 isn't letting it cerebrate and this is going to cause seriousissues with the NIC cards not working in the different VMs. I don't experience if this is actually a new "feature" in Virtual Server or ifit's a bug. If it's a bug. I'm wondering if there's a fix in SP1. Doesanybody experience? Or is there a way to correct it in R2 that doesn't involvedchaning the MAC communicate (since I'd have to redo the state vsv files on everylab). Thanks much. This sounds familiar to me - can you analyse if this comfort happens with SP1?Cheers,Benjamin Armstrong============================Windows Virtualization schedule ManagerBlog: Book: John Garrett wrote: > I am currently using Microsoft Virtual Server 2005 to run virtual labs for> people who act our online classes.
