Graphics & Games When i change state Microsoft Word i get this error communicate "A problem with the document was encountered and it cannot be opened." that just when i open word. I can't create a new evince document but i can read the ones saved on the Phone. Any ideas? Are you missing your Word Templates by any chance??  That happened to me once and I found that I had no templates on my phone.  Luckily they had been synced into the sync folder on my computer and I moved them back into the templates folder and all was well.  It happened right after a hard define BTW. Word ordain re-create missing templates. Deleting normal dot is usually my first go in troubleshooting these types of issues. If you guys can tell me step by step how to fix the problem that would be great. Is it safe to delete the Nature video that came on the phone and the pictures? they act up alot of space. I deleted one and no problems. But is it OK to delete the rest of the pictures and video that go on the telecommunicate? I am an AT&T legacy customer and I have a premier account.  I am not yet interested in changing over to orange. I went to the site to try and see what happens if I attempt to buy a phone Surprise:  a terse message comes up: "As part of our merger integration efforts selecting a new AT&T plan is required when upgrading your former AT&T phone.  Your phone number will remain the same" Does this imply that even if a buy a phone (e g. an 8525) at the full premier price of $750. I have to upgrade my plans  OR compulsory plan upgrades occur when you take the AT&T business and web discounts?thanks - MN in otherwords if i don't want to upgrade my plan. I have two choices:(1) Buy AT&T phone at full price without any discouts or committments etc and get it unlockedor(2) buy an unlocked phone elsewhere/online ?thanks - MN i would take your blue sim to a att store and see if it works in the new att devices if it does you wont need an unlocked phone just a new phone. gophone. lost/damaged pricing(refer to the 8525 in stock post) or full price. But I thought if your old phone isn't 3g if you go stick that sim into a new 3g phone you won't get 3g. Don't you HAVE to setup your sim on a 3g phone before you can stick it in a new phone? Yes. I'm not sure if i can.... all i know is if you sign a contract you have to switch the plan you can buy a phone @ 1 yr pricing this is $75 on top of a 2 yr pricing. this is through customer service... Premier might not offer that deal.. i honestly dont know if the old blue sim works in new att devices are you able to confirm this? (the blue sim needs to be placed in a new att device) What would be the point of buying a new 3G phone like the 8925 if you are not going to upgrade to a new plan with a 3G sim?  You would not be able to take advantage of the benefits of 3G without the 3G sim. If you really want to stick with your legacy plan buy a cheap phone. Just my 2 cents worth. all sims are 3g out the gate the only issue would be with video share you have to have the 71234 sku sim for that all others will hit 3g in a 3g phone. maybe. I should re-phrase my question and my plan:--I don't plan to change to orange soon... but I need a PDA/Phone with some minimal data plan.. so I plan to:(a). Get a data plan for my current unlocked Moto v551 phone -- to be sure it is working... for now we those on Legacy plans can only get mMode plans and that is ok.  I will check to be sure it is working with my v551.(b) I can get an unlocked Kaiser online for about $750 and with that just stick my SIM card into it. It should work and hopefully I can get 3G service.  (If not. I should be ok with Edge since I don't need internet that much -- only for occassional 5 - 10 minutes browsing and checking emails.. i have internet at home and office where I spend most of my time ))(c) Now with a AT&T premier account. I can get the same Kaiser for probably about $350 (with all the web discounts) -- but that would mean going with a contract and switching plans which I don't want to do.(d) the other alternative is to pay a full price for the phone -- at about $750 but there are two issues with this: (i) the phone will come locked to cingular and my SIM card may not work hence I have to get it unlocked -- cingular can do it or I can do it online (ii) but more seriously the premier reps told me that even with this full price. I would still have to change my plans... but I don't think this is right?(e) I can get the phone at the regular AT&T site (without the premier discounts) at a full anticipated price of about $550.  here again. I would face the same issue of whether I would be required to change my plan.... OR(f) is it possible to follow options c or e and just have the phone unlocked online - somewhere else -- if that would save me my plan -- and save me some $$ or just swallow the pill and order the Kaiser online ?I hope this explains it a bit.. t 2008 AT&T Intellectual Property. I have an 8125 and upgrading to an 8525. Is there an easy way to upgrade contacts without have to save them to the sim card? I really dont get this sim card thing.  it seems desire just as big of a hurt to add each individual number to the sim separate to write over the contacts. The fact that we have a space station and cant figure simple ways to write and past a contact file is beyond me. Are your contacts stored on the SIM??  Or are they stored on the phone??  If they're stored on the SIM you can import them to the Contacts database on the phone by using the SIM Manager.  Then just sync them to Outlook through Active Sync.  Or -- after importing them to the phone -- copy and paste the pim vol file from the telecommunicate to your computer and then copy it approve to the 8525 when you get it.  Another option (once they're on the phone) is to use an app called PPCPIMBackupv2.5 to backup your contact info and then restore the communicate file to your 8525 when you get it. Or just use Sim Manager to go phone -> sim switch sim to other phone then use SM to go sim -> telecommunicate. And feel lucky to have these sim cards. Verizon populate can't change there phone on a whim like us. I suggest just syncing with outlook and when you get the new phone they will all sync to it from outlook.  The major flaw with the SIM separate is it only stores the label and be so all other information in the contacts is no there. 2007 AT&T Intellectual Property. I found the issue was nothing more than ATT DNS servers not having my companies records (among others). I administer a DNS server so I enabled my 8525 to use my nameserver and all of my browsing issues have been resolved. Not to mention my browsing undergo has changed for the better. I conclude this selective DNS resolving is intentional and would like a statement from someone with more knowledge than the techs at 611. My 8525 is resetting the backlight setting to 10 seconds whenever it is change state off and turned approve on, how do I prevent this from happening?  Problem arises when you undergo added software to your PPC. You will undergo to delete one program at a time to determine which is the offender. Opera Mini & some games are among the culprits that cause the backlight to fail to ten seconds rather than the "Windows" fail of thirty. I will do a examine again to see if i missed something.  I undergo had Opera Mini for a bring together of months in fact I have loaded nothing new in the last few weeks and undergo not had this problem until yesterday.  Also. I have no games on this 8525 (object what came with it).  I do undergo Oxios close apps/catch some z's. TCPMP. alter Temp and Google maps is anyone of these a first choice to shift?  I use them all everyday and if I need to shift them to change by reversal this backlight problem can I then charge them? Unfortunately with the ten second fail problem editing the registry  back to thirty does not end the issue. It is caused by a conflict with after installed programs. Reinstalling programs does not be to back up. You might try to upgrade to the Opera Mini beta 4.5 after you undergo uninstalled your current version of Mini. Make sure that you do a soft reset before installing the beta version.
