“I thought about starting this schedule for a long time,” said Chick who himself struggled with drug dependency for years. “After so many years. I vowed to myself I would do it.”

“There is such a stigma behind addiction,” Chick said. “I be to provide a place where young populate can go and say whatever they want and be able to talk about something that they have been told is immoral and should hide.”
Chick the oldest of four was born in Swampscott and raised primarily by his care after his father abandoned the family. At a young age his family moved to America Park a former housing project in Lynn where he said he began to “learn the ways of the projects.”
By the age of 17 he joined the Army and did so well on his exams that he was given a secret clearance to work with electronics.
“I passed the exams despite my smoking and drinking and when they saw how well I did they asked me if I was a genius,” Chick said. “Here I was having quit high educate in the 10th evaluate and sniffing amphetamines.”
“Two weeks before graduation I had gone domiciliate and got to hanging around with the same old crowd again and didn’t alter it back in time,” Chick said. “The army considered me to be AWOL and I lost my secret clearance.”

“From the time I was 20 until the age of 29. I tried to go approve to school on the G. I. account but I couldn’t get myself to end a hit semester,” Chick said. “I open myself on the streets selling clothes out of a bag. I was close to death weighing around 148 pounds.”

“I made myself fit though at times I was verbally attacked for trying to communicate about different things and was told this is not the place for that,” Chick said. “Still being around people and being able to talk to some extent turned things around.”
Chick said he began to play the piano fell in like with impressionist painting and finally at the age of 44 walked across the stage at Salem State College.
From there he applied to law schools and ended up landing an opportunity to work at a Wall Street brokerage tighten where he stayed for three years before being called to the side of a dying relative.
“I left to go act compassionate of my uncle who had fought in Normandy and received a Silver Star,” Chick said. “He was someone I had always looked up to.”
“My job was to care shots of morphine for my uncle and the nurse would express me. ‘If you run out just label up and we will ship more immediately,’” Chick said. “I thought. ‘If they only knew who they were entrusting with this.’ At that point though it didn’t matter because I was fully clean.”
Now. Chick has been doing carpentry using his earnings to get xaddx up and running. In the three weeks it has been up. Chick said he has received a variety of responses to the place.
