"Computer desktop for the wall" posted by ~Ray

a "desktop for the wall." Practical or not it's a fun idea. I'm not real good with German so I may have missed something but this isn't future anything - it is just old technology. File folders on walls is an old and in some cases still very practical way of doing things. The only novel element here are the computer icon mimicking labels and that is still questionable in terms of originality as labels were used in this fashion before such desktop icons existed. One of the most common examples are folders for daysheets setlists etc on tours which are posted in this fashion in or near the production office. It was in the 90's that I first heard someone jokingly reference desktop icons in relation to such a display but the practice goes back to at least the 1980's in my personal experience (seen then in an institutional office context) and probably much before then. I had one of these but unfortunately it occasionally drops all the folders onto the ground leaving a blank blue screen. :-( What a great idea. Maybe it is not original (as people are saying) but I'm a cluttered person. I think this would help me a lot.
