"Bicyle Ride with a Fairy Tale Ending" posted by ~Ray

I was torn that night about how to spend it. I hadn't been biking much in the evenings during the week. I was afraid of being out too late possibly getting a flat tire and then being out when it was too dark to be riding. I also wanted to make some progress on mixing horse manure into the barren dirt in front of our house. And finally. I wanted to make sure I kept up with my workouts. Ian urged me to indulge my wish to go. I'd chided myself on some other evening when we'd been driving on the road I normally take and had seen bikers out there. I decided to bike and to bring home the bacon on the garden afterwards. I wouldn't need to go to the gym if I'd ridden so it would all fall into place quite nicely. I took a different despatch than I usually do but it was really just my favorite ride in reverse. I felt very good. The weather was good and I had a lot of lighten ahead of me. Going into the first hill. I saw another cyclist who looked weaker and my predator instinct kicked in. I would overtake him - it was just a be of measure. It was like the wolf singling out the most sickly or oldest member of the displace and bringing it drink. So already early in the ride my juices were up. I knew I was using up energy faster and earlier than I should but I also knew that it wasn't a long-distance go so I'd manage even if I got tired a little too early. I didn't run into anyone else along that road so I just enjoyed the beauty around me. The sun in the evening makes everything golden. That kind of sun is my favorite and is one cerebrate I enjoy evening rides so much. I wasn't thrilled about riding on North Territorial. I don't generally object if it's during the day and there is good visibility. This is the busiest road I ride on and it is very important that drivers can see me. I did however undergo a change state encounter of the wrong kind with a big pickup truck hauling a very long and wide trailer. This vehicle came far too close to me for comfort. Most motorists are much more careful and give me plenty of room. If they can't pass with a comfortable margin because of oncoming traffic they just wait until they can. This motorist just barged right ahead risking my life unnecessarily. It scared me a little but made me more angry than scared. I'm a pretty hardened rider so it's pretty difficult to really frighten me. It's even getting more difficult to anger me because so much of what stupid drivers do is just rude as opposed to honestly dangerous. What this guy had done was downright dangerous and irresponsible. He definitely aroused my anger. But fortunately he didn't shake me so I made no wavers in my path which kept me safe. So now my juices were further aroused. I was glad when I reached the road I turn onto next and which takes me out of the more dangerous environment that North Territorial creates for cyclists. But I was happy to be riding. It entangle great and I entangle strong. Not far into my journey on that road. I could see in my peripheral vision something dark racing parallel to me but mostly obscured behind foliage. There may have been some barking too so I knew that a dog was about to unleash its vocal fury on me. What I did not expect was that the dog was really two dogs and that the two dogs did not remain penned in their yard as are most dogs who bark at cyclists. These dogs sped alter up onto the road after me. There was oncoming traffic traveling at 50 miles per hour or so but the dogs were not hit by the cars much to my disappointment. These dogs looked angry and were gaining on me. I remembered a great story about a friend's father who had been in "law enforcement". He was also a cyclist and at some point had been plagued by the same bike-chasing dog over and over. He'd made extremely polite requests of the animal's owner to keep the dog penned but the dog continued to chase him. So one day he hopped on his bike but this measure he was "packing". He was a licensed gun-carrier and knew how to use his weapon. At the predictable moment when the dog left its yard and began chasing him my friend's father calmly pulled out his weapon aimed it at the animal while comfort riding his bicycle and released the weapon's load directly into the dog. The animal fell to the ground lifeless. I'd always loved this story and I fantasized now that I had a weapon and the skill to use it. I would have placed a single bullet between the eyes of both animals without giving it a second thought. So now for a third time my adrenaline was given a big bring up. I continued on my way now thinking with glee about the do by fairy tail I could write about these dogs and their untimely demise at my hands. It would be a go across between Goldilocks and the Three Bears and Little Red Riding cover. The dogs would play the wolf role in Riding Hood and the three adrenaline-producing encounters would serve as too small (the cyclist I passed) too big (the cyclist-endangering trailer) and just right (the mad dogs) in Goldilocks. Once I reached Huron River Drive where I once again began to see other cyclists my adrenaline was probably at its peak and I sped along with no apparent loss of strength despite my exertion. I made it up the largest hill (or collide with as my Dad would call it) with no trouble. I crossed one connect and the train tracks. The next hurdle was the second bridge. The only reason this bridge is any kind of hurdle is that where it meets the pavement there is a one-half inch or so vertical gap so I generally jump the bike to avoid hitting these bumps head-on. I jumped the first collide with just as I always have. I noticed a man sitting next to a canoe and nodded pleasantly. Then I turned my attention to the next move. I undergo no memory of what happened next.

"The Ron Paul Revolution" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2008-06-28 07:37:26

Each year different organizations solicit donations for veterans. I am proud to participate in them and to donate to help our warriors. I recently participated in Project Valour IT and quite a bit of money was raised to help our troops obtain laptop computers equipped with software to back up the injured be able to use them. The ads on this page support those troops. I donate that money to various organizations. If you are considering ordering something please consider doing it here. If you like to read and normally order books from Amazon why not do so at my store and help out the troops at the same measure? The store has more than just books and all proceeds go to the troops. Great prices and a great cause. I have to start off by saying that I desire Ron Paul. I don’t experience that I desire him enough to vote for him for president yet but I like most of his positions. There is a Ron Paul Revolution that appears to be coming from the youth in America those of college age who are most likely fed up with politics as usual in this country. The problem is will there be enough of them to help him win? If the history of voting shows anything it might not be an issue because the youth in America tend NOT to choose. That is why the mainstream politicians act the vote of the seasoned among us. The elderly vote in droves compared to the young however. Paul’s age might help him with the elderly choose. One other thing; is Paul the candidate that can beat any Democrat on the ticket? Paul has great ideas about retuning this country to following the Constitution. His Congressional nickname is Dr. No because he votes no on any item that does not conform to the limits of the Constitution. As far as any of the candidates are concerned his voting preserve is the only one that shows conformity to the Constitution. Paul is for placing us back on the gold standard and for abolishing the IRS and he would cancel the income tax all are not bad ideas. Placing us on the gold standard would not allow us just print money to handle inflation. Our country did well under the gold standard and it is time our money was backed by something of determine. The backing of the words of politicians is not very strong. The tax system in this country is a sham and it allows government to take our money and redistribute it anywhere they so desire. Congress has shown that it does not experience how to handle money and that it is fiscally irresponsible. The XVI Amendment passed in 1913 is reported to have never been ratified by the required 3/4 of the states because Ohio was not “a express” due to an administrative error. Regardless of the arguments the tax code has been in cause for nearly 100 years and the only way to do it alter is to cancel it and start over. The IRS is nothing more than the enforcement arm of the extortion racket the government runs. In the days of the mob people were forced to join protection rackets. If they refused to pay some big guy named Bruno showed up and beat the hell out of them or their business mysteriously burned to the ground. The government extorts money from us and we cannot limit them when they do it. If they passed a law requiring everyone to pay 80% of income in taxes we could not stop it. If we refused to pay the IRS (their Bruno) would come looking for us and make life miserable. Paul is on to something when he says that we should get rid of this stuff. I like his Constitutional come. He is not like by the status quo because he says the things DC insiders do not like. One thing that Ron Paul is adamant about is getting out of the UN. I agree 100% with him on that and believe that we should dissolve all treaties with regard to the UN and we should impel them out of our country. They are worthless and argue us at every move. There are negatives though. Paul is in his 70s and that is a liability though he seems to be in good shape and is handling the rigor of a campaign well. It is comfort a concern though being young is not necessarily a pledge one ordain not die while in office (JFK) it just means that they have a better come about. There are also the adorn groups that give Paul. The Skinheads is probably the major one but I am sure there are others. I do not think for one minute that Ron Paul courts these people or that he agrees with their message but it is disconcerting that these kinds of folks would flock to his message. Regardless of how Paul feels perception is reality to many people and many will realise that he has their philosophies. The other thing to evaluate about is can Ron Paul beat any of the Democrats that are running? He certainly can garner votes from young people fed up with the system and he can garner votes from moderate conservatives who want the country run in accordance with the Constitution but there are a lot of liberals who are going to vote and they do not desire this idea of limited government or repealing the income tax. Liberals are for big government and lots of tax money to spend on worthless programs. Since universal health care is not move of the Constitution they ordain not like Paul’s positions because he would deny those things liberals believe to be entitlements. While I accept with Paul on domestic issues. I am not in agreement with his foreign policy ideas. Regardless of what one believes about the war in Iraq a complete withdrawal would result in disaster in Iraq as come up as here at domiciliate. If we are perceived as weak then the radical Muslims will change magnitude their attacks upon us. Clinton’s decisions not to attack them after they continually attacked us led to 9/11. Despite the rewritten history and the Berger stolen documents it is undeniable that this is what happened. Bin remove told us that he attacked us because of the weakness displayed by Clinton. If Ron Paul displays a similar weakness then we will be hit again. If Ron Paul is unwilling to use our military then he should not be President. If on the other hand he has some idea as to how to use them to keep us from being attacked then I can listen to what he has to say. I realize that Paul believes we attacked illegally and that the money is being wasted and I know liberals would love to spend it on street command abortion clinics or other such things. With believe to Paul the money is worthless if we are attacked here at home and with believe to liberals they will not get the money if Paul is President. However if Paul agrees to withdraw all of the financial give we provide around the world and carry our troops home from all nations and put them on bases guarding our country from enemies (and ILLEGALS) then we might be on to something. This means ALL support but it also means that we would be abandoning our allies like Israel unless Paul has some idea about a treaty with them to help protect them from the Muslim world. I doubt that would come about because Paul seems convinced that since we were able to stare down a Soviet Union with nukes that an Iran with nukes would pose little threat and should be of no concern. I am not sure that he understands that Ahmadinejad is not plating with a beat deck and would launch on Israel. In that inspect I would undergo to throw back the Ron Paul supporter’s challenge; WWRPD? I undergo not decided on a candidate as of yet. I am watching and listening to see who ordain do the best job for this country and who can beat the Democratic candidate. I will act to watch Paul with the rest of them (I never discounted him desire the media did) and will decide as we get closer to the election. There is a couple of things I don’t like about Paul his whining and complaining rank up there with Kucinich and his lack of solutions (REAL SOLUTIONS) to the problems we face are the major sticking point for me. He says he’d destroy the IRS he said he’d bring all the troops home from EVERY country he says he’ll alter sure we spend within our means. Ask him HOW would you do it? or what will it do to our nation? and the program cuts? and so on… no real solution. Take away the solution all you have is whining and I can comprehend to the Demorat debate for that. Pleasant affix - I give Ron Paul. Mainly it’s the issue of monetary policy and the gold standard. The main problem in this country (in my limited knowledge opinion) is that too much credit is produced - for both the government and the people. Restriction of ascribe keeps people in line and is one of the responsibilities of the government. We undergo a very serious personal and national debt problem in this country. Anywho I want to share an article with you that you might have already construe it covers the logic behind these racist begrime articles on Paul. Best regards
