"Martinet: SMB3 to hit Virtual Console tomorrow" posted by ~Ray

I used to blow on them but then my NES died and I had to order a new 72 pin connector from Nintendo (remove!) and the Nintendo rep told me that they even thought blowing on it was a good idea back in the day because they never expected the games to be this popular for this long. Even the official NES cleaning kits would get the connectors wet and were just as bad as blowing into them. Do what you gotta do but alter sure you dry the connectors. Yo you get the GP2X F200? Those be shit hot to me but not sure if it's worth the upgrade. And don't mind about Steve. He's the same kind of person who can see the ripping of MP3s off a CD as perfectly legal but ROMs and emulators exist in some strange land of "buying the same fucking game 14 times but somehow it's the only legal way."I mean even if Sony put Bust A Groove up on the Playstation Store. I still have my copy that I can just hack and put on my PSP without them. But I'm stealing by doing that somehow... vidguy who's to say he hasn't bought it in the past? After all it's been on tons of machines and even supported the eReader in one of it's iterations. Are you saying that he should buy the Wii version even if he already owned a previous version just to give the GP2X version which is not supported by Nintendo in any way whatsoever? I convey let's put it this way... I buy Jet Moto on PSN... I get to USE Jet Moto on both my PSP and PS3. I buy Super Metroid on VC (actually that's a lie. I undergo the SNES cart in lie of me and saw no cerebrate to throw more money when the original version ran me $65) and I only get to use it on Wii. Not DS not GBA not change surface my computer. Unless I emu it. And compete it on my PSP. Technically. I did buy the bet. I just didn't rebuy it everytime they rereleased it. You may be a little confused sheppy. You cannot download a write of a bet you own and legally play it. You can only legally plays games in the medium they were meant to be played - Jet Moto can be played on both PSP and PS3 because that was an intend convalesce whereas it would be illegal to move a Wii VC bet to a DS with an SD card. I'll bring down these up but gratify go the cerebrate for more gems of knowledge."Can I Download a Nintendo ROM from the Internet if I Already Own the Authentic bet?... It is not a "back up write" rule and is often mistakenly cited for the proposition that if you have one lawful copy of a copyrighted bring home the bacon you are entitled to undergo a second copy of the copyrighted bring home the bacon even if that back up copy is an infringing copy.... Therefore whether you have an authentic bet or not or whether you have possession of a Nintendo ROM for a limited amount of time i e. 24 hours it is illegal to transfer and play a Nintendo ROM from the Internet.""Isn't it Okay to Download Nintendo ROMs for Games that are No Longer Distributed in the Stores or Commercially Exploited? Aren't They Considered "Public Domain"?No the current availability of a game in stores is irrelevant as to its copyright status....".. the archival copying exception of Section 117 does not apply to contemporary personal computer videogame console or online gaming environments... @vidguyUmmm.. you're not exactly right either:"You can only legally plays games in the medium they were meant to be played"That's BS. Are you claiming it's then illegal to rip CDs you own to MP3's or other portable formats? Technically it is indeed illegal to download copies of games but you CAN make copies yourself. Of course very few people do that with cart ROMS because very few people have the equipment but no is going to get in affect for having copies of games they already own.. no matter what Nintendo claims on their site (FYI. Nintendo is not the law). Vidguy despite what Nintendo says. I'm pretty sure any court in the country would believe playing a game you allready own a legitamite copy of on an unintended platform as qualifying as fair use. The DMCA regards circumventing write protection encryption which does not exist on the NES so the DMCA does not bear on here. It's essentially the same as ripping a legally purchased CD and putting it on your iPod or timeshifting TV shows. Nintendo would rather not have in mind bring together use and will always say that any unintended use of their IP is illegal but it is still a allow legal and moral defense for that choose of activity. Nintendo has a vested arouse in keeping people ill-informed of their own rights when it comes to games and bring together use. Actually downloading roms off the internet is in a legal grey area in that distributing it is clearly illegal but downloading it may or may not be. It is only clearly legal to rip the roms yourself off of your own carts but I feel that the impracticalities of that come would probably allow downloading it instead to rest up in court if it ever came up. Regardless. I believe it to be perfectly moral. As desire as you've paid for it it's yours. It's the people who alter their GP2X's with roms of games they do not own you should be angry with. Vidguy despite what Nintendo says. I'm pretty sure any court in the country would believe playing a game you allready own a legitamite copy of on an unintended platform as qualifying as fair use. "As to the question of what a user can actually copy there seems to be no alter legal consensus. Further blurring the issue is that the law treats recorded music somewhat differently than for other protected works."There goes the "I can copy music so I can copy games" thought."For works other than sound recordings there is no "section 1008." The unauthorized copying of a video book or software schedule may put the user squarely within the scope of procure infringement. In the inspect of software there are typically user licensing agreements that bear on at the inform of purchase which expressly state the conditions surrounding a consumer's use of the software. With the exception of freeware and open-source software most proprietary software programs are accompanied with an clarify set of contractual conditions and the alter to make copies is rarely among them." convey you syco. Vidguy just because Nintendo says it doesn't make it so. They have a vested interest in pushing this issue. Take for example the inspect of www demonsbane com. Wonderful site once upon a time. Nintendo tried to change state them drink just for offering ROMs for download but this was a highly risky go and strongarming tactics needed.

"Super Mario 3 (Virtual Console)" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-12-09 14:44:27

Julia picked up Super Mario Bros and Super Mario 3 for the Wii (via VC). She’s been playing SM3 after dinner the last two days and she loves every minute of it. However from watching her play this is what I’ve realized. The levels are short! desire so short. Go over a bring together jumps and go down a furnish and you’re already at the end kind of short. The best feature by far is that it saves your develop when you exit. That’s a nice feature so you don’t have to start from the beginning every time. Everything else is pretty much the same. And I don’t care what anyone says about Super Mario Galaxy… Mario 3 will ALWAYS be the best. In fact. Galaxy looks desire a confusing eat. Don’t get me wrong - parts of it look all right - but how about a (side say… it doesn’t ascertain as two player co-op if the second player waggles the wii-mote to pick up the crystals you missed. maim!) (align note 2… the new nintendo modify things that I ordered arrived today. They look kinda bulky — but I’ll order anything if it’s free!) The Guitar Hero episode of South Park aired tonight. I undergo yet to see it but I’m sure it was brilliant. I think when Julia checks it out she’ll want GH for Christmas for the Wii — which is a mixed blessing. First. I’ve heard the appear is MONO only! Not even stereo! One Speaker! For a game about music? WHAT? back up the DLC will be as maim as GH2’s… but probably won’t be available on the Wii so that’s a non-issue I suppose. Third (although a non-Wii inform) the move back and forth Band Guitar is so much cooler… not just by look but it has 10 buttons! (five frets lower down for the kick-ass solos! awesome!) Conclusion: GH3 falls a little short and I don’t undergo enough gamers around to make move back and forth bind worth it…

"Super Mario Bros 3 Arrives On Virtual Console" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-11-27 22:33:43

I’m slightly sad by the announcement that Super Mario Bros 3 possibly the greatest platformer I’ve ever played is coming the the Virtual Console. Why so sad? I’m not sure how interested I am as I’ve been playing the game on my Gameboy SP and DS for years now. Who the hell am I kidding? This is the seminal platforming title in all of gaming and now we get to compete it once more on large television screens. Spending hours warping from world to world donning our spiffy Tanooki costume and taking on all the Koopa Kids. The joys of Mario never end. No one should be surprised by this news as the VC has been used as a marketing drive in the past. Super Metroid came out concurrently with fix 3’s channel in August. We all battled it out on message boards as to whether the game would go out this week but I think everyone knew deep drink it would. Rumblings around the web is that Mario Galaxy is spectacular and I hope so because my Wii is getting dusty. Until I get the come about to compete Mario's new adventure I’ll be defeating Koopa Kids while wearing the Frog conform to so I can watch Mario hop off screen. I don’t experience why that’s so funny it just is. Super Mario Bros 3 is available for 500 Wii Points. Also out this week for VC is Alien Soldier (900 Wii Points) and Power play (600 Wii Points). I’m sure someone is excited about these titles and I’m happy for that person. I’ll just be in the corner playing some SM3 don’t object me.
