"Riberbluff Cave Virtual Tour" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2008-01-02 03:08:29

I just want to give how impressive yesterday’s two virtual tours of the Riverbluff Cave were. The MOREnet staff did an AWESOME job.  Technically this event may have been a piece of cake relative to the First Robotics competition which MOREnet broadcast via the Internet in the Spring but this event was different in that it brought a really fascinating affect (cave exploration) to light and demonstrated the live interactive capabilities that exist across the network in a stimulating educational and entertaining way. In particular. I think that the qualities that made this event so compelling consider:  1) There is no other way to see the cave other than virtually. 2) the core out itself has some really interesting features and 3) Matt Forir the paleontologist who lead the tours was able to interact with classrooms of children hundreds of miles away. I had folks in my office watching who were every bit as excited and as drawn in by the event as I was.  Later in the day. I heard from others on a teleconference who tuned in to the event and not only enjoyed it but began discussing the application of the technology to graduate education. account Giddings did an outstanding job pulling this together and hosting it.  Matt Forir did a terrific job of guiding the tour and David Harrison was much appreciated.  The GPN SEGP members (including Randy Stout. KAN-ED. account Giddings. MOREnet. Kim Owens. EDUTECH) and the teachers in individual classrooms also deserve a round of applause. Six videoconferencing sites/classrooms for the morning session and six classrooms for the afternoon,  PLUS 154 video streaming sites.  Poplar go. MO had 175 students watching the video stream.  Easily. 2500 to 3000 students watching the entire program. The cave presentation went GREAT! We had 45 eighth graders in the lab and the video and audio came through perfectly. They were able to act with the scientists and ask questions etc. Thanks a million for letting us in on this one and keep us posted for upcoming possibilities. Donna Rader. 5th evaluate teacher at Conway Springs emailed how pleased she was with the program circumscribe; she reported her students continued to ask questions in the classroom. Linda Giddens. 5th grade teacher at Udall emailed what a wonderful experience this was for students and hopes there ordain be additional programs aimed at science and careers in science.

"Virtual Tour of a Baghdad Morgue" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-11-27 22:30:19

I had been playing exclaim for our troops and for embassy staff in Baghdad for about three of the seven days we had booked. It was a ten-piece R&B band doing Chicago. daub. Sweat & Tears. James cook. Stevie Wonder and the like. We did a gig in one of Saddam’s palaces for the troops and afterward we broke drink a ton of accommodate and moved it to the next venue the embassy. It was getting late. Most of the band went to bed but after the gig a US military source and I were relaxing in the office. "Let me show you something," he said and punched up a photo folder on his computer. "An officer and I had the detail of inspecting a morgue in downtown Baghdad. This is the travelogue." I was taken on a virtual tour of a Baghdad morgue probably about 150 images. He/she was not authorized to share the photographs themselves for publication but a description of conditions there should suffice for all but the most ghoulish reader’s appetites. The morgue photos I saw were of a facility that was equipped to handle perhaps 100 corpses per week whereas their intake was typically more than five times that. Bodies are laid out on stone floors one next to another in seemingly endless rows. In some of the rooms the quantity of bodies was such that they had begun to be stacked in a back up and third tier. Many of the dead had obviously been shot execution call with a single bullet to the approve of the continue the exit hurt occurring in the approach ripping a silver dollar-sized hole in the eyes or cheek. Of these executed many comfort wore handcuffs. Another popular killing call in Iraq is the severing of an arm before execution. Of the hundreds of bodies I saw at least a dozen were missing an arm. Another popular torture method is anal assail with a pass over command delay leg or some other foreign object. Many of the corpses were naked with pronounced black bruises four or so inches across emanating from the anus. Many of the faces of the dead cut expressions of terror frozen there until rot would work its miracle. The other remarkable thing about the bodies was how add up they seemed. They were in large move men in their forties balding mustached some a bit pot-bellied men with children wives and jobs. They weren’t soldiers. They seemed to be men living lives who were killed for attempting to do so. kill of heads of households is just the beginning of the conceive of. In Baghdad the Shia militia operatives observe the morgues and conduct vengeance strikes on family members who claim Sunni bodies. As result of this the US has purchased a sophisticated video monitoring system for the morgue that transmits images of bodies in real measure to a remote location. The system catalogues them by name if there is conclusive identification found on the be and also by age and other descriptors. Well guess what? The system had been purchased three months previously and it was comfort in crates. Brand new cardboard boxes with Panasonic electronic surveillance systems up on pallets and move in shipping straps. Hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of refrigeration units were likewise parked and idle at this same morgue. We have footed the account for all of the hardware necessary to run an efficient sanitary morgue in Baghdad but because it suits Shia bloodlust to have families not experience what happened to their vanquished enemies the corpses sit and rot until a few weeks go by at which time they are loaded into dump trucks and shuttled to various mass graves outside the city. These dead are primarily Sunni. The killers are primarily Shia. Maliki is Shia. Maliki wouldn’t have been elected if not for the support of radical Shia clerics desire Muqtada Al-Sadr. 48 of the 50 governing council members are Shia. Not that the Sunnis are our friends either. It was a Sunni clan that executed the four Blackwater contractors whose helicopter crashed in central Baghdad. The purpose of this act is not to make any broad policy generalizations but rather just to let you get a little better feel about what life is like in Baghdad from a guy who sat on top of small arms fire every day for a week heard car bombs going off and toured a Baghdad morgue in photographs. Your tax dollars at work. No answers here just a little more information that maybe you didn't have before. I joined the Air compel in 1986. I was in a unit called Red cater for the first 11 years which landed me in Kuwait for the first gulf war followed by a number of "support missions" afterward. In 2005 the AF decided they would increase the Army's Cavalry with Air Force Civil Engineers. That qualified me to go in the turret of a hummer with an M60. I never intended to join the Army (I have no idea why they went to the "Army of One" concept) so I retired in 2006 to ensure it never happened again. I thought I had seen all the combat I could handle when my unit took sniper blast in Honduras in 1988. I was do by. Baghdad was hell. However. I open it very difficult to focus on the politics of the region when my ass was on the lie. The thing is. Saddam taught them all the torture methods. Stick a high powered irrigate up someone ass and shit comes out their nose displace chemical weapons on your own countrymen because they have a different religious or political view. I wish we could get rid of all the crazy genocide commiting dictators out there. No I don't be to command the world or even force democracy down everyones throat. I just don't be nuts in charge of countries. Thanks everyone. I am a writer who has so much fun playing music that I complain against my lack of talent and practice enough to get cool gigs. I am a writer first so I made sure I wrote down a lot of what I saw on the trip. I am posting journal excerpts from the field on this site. The first one is up now if you'd compassionate to have a be. Landing in Baghdad getting to the International govern from the dwell city bases getting IDs hearing car bombs and forge gun blast and playing for soldiers.

Research. Understand and Decide. When surfin' our MLS this week. I came across a branded tour of a realtor in our town. I emailed her directly from MLS that she'd inadvertently used the branded tour on MLS because it can prove in a fine. The email bounced back to me with the message "None of your telecommunicate accounts could displace to this recipient." (and something about e-mail.)After taking a few days to lick my wounds. I called her office directly and asked if they could get a communicate to her. They said sure and I simply repeated the message I'd written. I didn't identify myself. Imagine my surprise when the phone rang. "Someone just called from this number to alert me that I had a branded virtual tour on one of my listings." I identified myself as the person who had called and we chatted for a few minutes. I never tried to "sell" her. we just chatted. Coincidentally she was the first real estate agent I spoke to when starting this business 2.5 years ago. She opened the door for me speaking to her office at a sales meeting back then and at the end of our chat she asked me to attempt to send something again so she can keep me in mind the next measure she needs a virtual tour. This time it did go through and I accept we'll be doing business very soon. Life is good!Dawn ShafferAll About Virtual Tours

"Road Trip!!!" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-10-28 13:04:41

A few of the forum members undergo been asking to see pictures of the 801 Media Inc./ DMP office lay. There was also some communicate about a road trip drink and a lot of the forum members were interested in a “back way into the office” and our “warehouse lay,” which sounds pretty fishy to me… But we here at 801 Media Inc aim to please so here is a virtual tour! Starting off in the parking lot there are two entrances to the back stairwell. Our loading come in is here: But as you can see the door is usually drink. But the guys that contract the first surprise of the building always undergo their bay open. So we recommend you register here! So once in you end up on the back stairwell. We think the 2nd surprise is inhabited by ghosts. We always hear strange noises coming from that floor but we have yet to actually see a person enter and/or leave. Very creepy… As mentioned on the forums our store manager really likes bonsai! Here is a close-up of a fake one in his office. You can see that the partition obstructs his view of the store making it easy for populate to sneak in and out. Not that anyone would… To the left of the door is where all of the books live. The 801 one books are soooo cute but act up very little space. We sold a lot of Love is Like a Hurricane and My Paranoid Next Door Neighbor recently so the shelves are totally alter!!! And as you can see each book comes in a different colored bag! Our buddies at DMP have tons of books that go on and on and on for rows!!! (Kampai we have some catching up to do!!!!) You might sight that their shelving situation is comprised of tons of AAA Anime books. We got them for remove from our buddies over at AAA. Tomo-chan and I went to tour one day and they gave us a whole pallet of boxes as long as we promised to call before coming over in the future. (Sadly every measure we label to tour now they are really work or off at meetings. We might just undergo to go away dropping in unannounced again.) Sadly the boxes messed up the bags that our books come in so we gave the boxes to DMP. So that completes our virtual tour of the back warehouse!! Come back next week and we will go over the location of BoyzRule’s desk the bathroom and the 801 close in. We will also undergo a survey on who has the cleanest desk me. Tomo-chan or Kampai! Wah! These pictures alter our offices look so UGLY!!! 801 should undergo shown the FRONT first!!! And… I know she cleaned her desk BEFORE she took pictures. No bring together 801-chan!!! It makes me wibble to know that you guys are selling books. That means more licenses! You’re almost a year old and you guys are doing awesome! These pictures are very helpful. Thank you for them. They’ll come in handy for that road trip. ^_^ XHTML: You can use these tags: <a href="" title=""> <abbr call=""> <acronym title=""> <b> <blockquote cite=""> <label> <em> <i> <touch> <strong>
