I want to use directadmin for shared hosting service and vps. I beleive you wish to create a virtuozzo node with the server you are planning to buy. In that case you can use a highend VPS for shared hosting while you can resell vps from the same node. This is not a problem . You can create a VPS and make that your "shared" hosting. As for how many VPSes; with that kind of machine its hard to say because we don't experience how much you're going to furnish and how active they ordain be and how much are you planning to oversell. I'm going to say you can add quite a few and will undergo to add more ram in it when it starts getting full. Yes definitely create a VPS for selling your shared hosting - don't install a control panel on the main node. How many accounts you can fit on will be on your plans. Custom Application Management. Load Balanced Clusters and more. Thanks all for suggestions. I am going to use Xen VPS. "Kingsburg - Building Discussion" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-11-17 19:28:25

After 4 plays and finding myself thinking about the game more than I should. I'm very impressed with how come up balanced the building tracks are. That said it would be that much of the strategy revolves around your favored choice of building. Also once you go after a certain building strategy much of what you do is covering it's weaknesses. Main strategy: Roll high Alternate Strategies? Here's a discussion of the building tracks starting with the resources. VPs and ratio of VPs to resources. Cathedral: 20 resource. 24 VP. 1.2 VPs per resourceAdvantages - Efficient pure VP play with good insurance powers on the early two buildingsDisadvantages – No defense except a +1 to Demons from the perform. The top buildings require so many resources that timing becomes a problem if not started early enough. Merchant's Guild: 18 resources. 7 VPs. 0.39 VP per resourceAdvantages - beat powers for making extra resources. VP and avoiding lock-outs from other players. Significantly improves your chances for the highest rolls especially the coveted 17. The Merchant's Guild is decent VP and extra gold is quite valuable. Disadvantages - low VP defense penalty. & probably the most risky especially past the first two buildings. With the extra die you'll probably go last a lot and other players taking the soldiers could be crucial to improving your reduced defense. Wizard's Guild: 17 Resources,13 VPs. 0.75 VPs per resourceAdvantages – 4 defense plus the ability to buy soldiers for 1/2 be. Disadvantages - none. Fortress: 14 Resources. 8 VPs. 0.57 VPs per resourceAdvantages – 3 defense plus a bonus pass for each placement. Disadvantages - Low on VPsEmbassy: 13* resources. 7* VPs. 0.64* VPs per resourceAdvantages – this is the least expensive track and a big VP play. The -1 gold of the crane is going to help immediately on this row and possibly more. If done early the +1 VP per productive toughen is going to pay off extremely well and the town hall only increases its potential. Disadvantages – to maximize its VP you may fall behind on defense does not include bonuses. *Assuming the Embassy is up and running by summer of move 3 the real cost and VP are 11 resources. 15 VPs. 1.36 VPs per resource. Given this limited analysis. I would say the top priority should be to get the Embassy up and running as soon as safely possible. Obviously you need to undergo enough soldiers or bonuses to argue it since losing a 6 resource building would be a big hit. Stone can potentially be hard to get especially in a crowded board but you can start with a stone as your first resource. You can also use the stone for the guard tower if needed for defense. Having a cheap opener also means you ordain not go behind on buildings which give 1 VP in phase 3 King's reward. Secondarily. I find the Stable to be a favorite but that is partly a function of needing defense after getting the Embassy up. I think Kingsburg offers a neat variety of replay with differing numbers of players making certain buildings more or less valuable. Also since there's plenty of die rolling it's fun to experiment with different buildings to see how they play regardless of how you're scoring.

"Choosing the Best HTTP Server for a VPS" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-10-17 16:47:57

Arguably one of the most common web servers in use today is. The default lay of most VPSs ordain almost always undergo Apache preinstalled. The air with Apache lies in its size. It is such a large project and tries to include a little bit of everything so it ordain bring home the bacon for everyone. This means it has a huge memory footprint and can create a large CPU load if not tweaked properly. It can be tweaked to preform much better but by fail it has quite a large charge on the server. If you plan on running a Windows Server odds are you need. This web server is the server from Microsoft and the only server that will properly support all of their technology. If the support of ASP and ASP. NET is needed than you will have to use IIS. It is only supported on Windows and has seems to go through memory like candy. On one of my Windows VPSs the memory in use is almost always at 100% which is uncommon for Windows (it is common for *NIX). The unscientific conclusion I've come to is that it is how it handles sessions. It could be due to the programming on that server but I've heard similar reasoning from other admins. An alternative web server that is trying to fix the memory problems of the other servers mainly apache is. This server was designed for speed and being lightweight. The little bit I've played with the server I undergo come to be amazed by it everything is just simple by default. The problem I open with this server is that by default there is no simple way to hold back multiple sites under multiple users. The server server has one user and that user needs access to all files for all sites. From a security standpoint this is a really really bad concept. On the same concept you can not --easily-- control one directories settings without access to the entire configuration file. What I mean is that by default there is nothing similar to htaccess in apache. I've read that you can get it working but I've yet to act the time to do so. Overall the web server you use will be determined by what you be to run. If you want a thousand sites on a single server Apache ordain be the logical choice. be ASP/ASP. NET. IIS is what you need. One or two large sites with a ton of merchandise lighttpd is the best option. Being the server geek that I am. I currently like lighttpd over anything else. That does not mean that I use it everywhere; this server is served by Apache and it gets the job done.

"Chairman,CEOs, CFOs, VPs, & Directors: What is "one thing" that ..." posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-10-10 18:19:57

Wondering what is "one thing" that is common with you all & what is "other thing" that is different from each other. We have great Managers and other managers - what is that common with all these great managers and other managers (Example: Jack cheat was a great manager) - is it an individual who made the difference? This is not only for current head,CEOs. CFOs. VPs & Directors but also to all those who be after to change state one... They all are leaders who undergo go up because of their key skills in driving and strategizing the ultimate goals for their organization. Following are the characteristics they all (should) undergo in common:1. Vision - that helps them build and command the organization2. Leadership skills - to execute plans smoothly3. A good communicator - who builds relationships and act his workforce informed of developments4. Appreciation - ability to accept and sincerely recognise the win5. Ability to take risks6. Negotiation skills7. alter & enhance - always 'create by mental act' the system as an organzation is never static8. Optimistic - be positive9. Customer orientation - 'know your clients'Now the back up move - the things that make them different are below. Map each of the below with the respective numbered inform above.1. How they realise the vision2. Different styles of leadership3. The way they communicate and build relationship4. How well they recognize and motivate people who do smarter work5. The aim of confidence in taking risks and abilities in managing them6. Their style of negotiation and the perception they act in front of the vendor / customer / internal resource7. Different processes and best practices they follow for enhancing the ever-changing competitive environment8. How they emit optimism and positivity to people around them9. Objectives of each of the roles mentioned (CEO. CFO. VP and Director) from an customer perspective could be different in any organization. My thoughts –IMO the similarities amongst people in upper Management (Directors up to head) may be narrowed to a few common traits –1. Personal desire or wish to grow in the corporate break backed with intense levels of commitment and passion to achieve the same. 2. The urge to excel is another common driver for many leaders.3. High communication skills. Leadership styles may be distinct across individuals. However great leaders and managers can be differentiated from others by the following characteristics –1. Ability to lead from front by example2. Clear vision3. Charisma4. Integrity5. Effective Planning6. Effective Risk and Crisis management7. Successful People Management8. Continuous Improvements. On the dark align. Management can get marred by negative influences as well -1. Arrogance 2. Micro Management3. Nepotism 4. Blame-game during crisis.5. Poor Planning and ExecutionThese factors can lead to damaging impacts on an organization. There are instances where great leadership displays itself as a write of individual brilliance. On another note repeated display of great management and leadership within a affiliate can slowly convert to become an integral grow resulting in a successful organization. Good managers(all in the decision making aim) would have Passion. Articulation timing and most important clear thought and desire be planning(keeping object the rapidly changing environment consumer profiles competing technologies and competitors)- or at least a good combination of at least a few of these traits which compensates for the shortfall in the other departments. Bad managers are the ones who always be our for(some reason) short call results regardless of whether those tactics are in fact cutting the roots of desire term developmental possibilities- they are always in for quick 'surprise and awe'/ fire-fighting tasks(and strategy is a evince which may not be there in their dictionaries at all). If the strategy is desire reaching you are on some jaunt else you are out in the next stop!. What they all have in common (or had exceed have in common) is their focus on others. They are successful when they empower others when they enable others when they put others in position to be successful. They listen to customers. They receive input from multiple sources. They create wins.. then share the credit. They are aggroup players. They are selfless servants. What differentiates each of these positions is the aim and scope of responsibilities. They all have unique roles that contribute to the overall success of the organization. But.. the business of leaders is in making the team successful - by focusing outward! Hooah! Best Answers in: Career Development (10). Using LinkedIn (7). Business Development (4). Starting Up (4). Professional Networking (3). Staffing and Recruiting (3). Organizational Development (3). Education and Schools (2). dress Management (2). Planning (2). Small Business (2). Customer Service (1). Job Search (1). Mentoring (1). Government Policy (1). Intellectual Property (1). Telecommunications (1) One common thing: Is to succeed undergo a position fame recognition for oneself. They make a difference to the organization they bring home the bacon for and to the populate around them. Great Managers -> Not just succeed but bring about by example. Have the leadership & mentoring skills a vision for themselves and the organization they work for. Passionate about what they are doing have alter road map for achieving their goal have directions for their aggroup and undeterred while managing a solution. They accept in 'We' or 'aggroup'. They are the constructors in any organization. Managers -> Other managers are mostly like damagers. Poor vision no roadmap current solutions to the problem little leadership & mentoring skills great at blame games passing on the ball taking no ownerships. Such managers are destructors for any organizations. They believe in "i" and 'Me'. What I learned working with brilliant CEOs. CFOs. VPs and the likes and also being one (not-so-brilliant though) is the innate AND developed ability to displace what is essential from what is not. Leaders know how to direct resources (starting from their own time) to what matters most. All the time. You won't see a top executive mulling over too much dilate or wasting measure with minor issues. The never-get-theres do it. Most of the time. They are different in everything else. A wish and control to alter your company profitable through your ability to lead and bring home the bacon others to follow your programs. Unless you are a non-profit--all businesses exist to make money. How you make money and how quickly your business model emerges as a "winner" is important to any of these people. In the USA as of late there has been much controversy over the salaries of CEOs and others. There is a big displace to modify the benefits and salaries they receive to be in keeping with the contributions they make to a company--"Pay for Performance". Many think these populate are way overpaid for their efforts--especially for publically traded companies--when the share prices decrease over time or the fundamentals do not appreciably change magnitude with CEO X or Y. The difference is the intangible quality of a CEO etc to bring about their company--leadership and visionary skills. You can be a great manager.
